About Us

About us / Contact us

Formerly, Midwest Literary Magazine and Print (Midwest Press), MLM is a footprint company.

Our primary goal is to find and publish excellent authors of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. We do not give special regard to the popularity of writers. Instead, we judge works on quality. At least two staff members read every submission, to help eliminate any kind of bias.

Like all companies, we operate on a budget. The bulk of our budget is contributed by our parent company, and supplemented by sales of our annual publication. In order to keep our services free to writers and readers alike, we accept donations – but we do not require donations. Also, donors are not more likely to be selected for publication.

The motto of MLM is, “The Quiet Press” and we strive to maintain a simple integrity. Our vision does not include overt self-promotion. We strive to keep the focus on the writers and their work. All the staff members at MLM are published authors. In keeping with our policy, we do not list names or otherwise try to promote ourselves through this venue.

We do not charge the writers to submit their work, nor do we charge readers for our monthly magazine. Once a year we publish and sell an anthology. Those profits pay for the website etc. We are able to operate this way because most of our staff members are volunteers. We are writers. This is our contribution, without fanfare or self-promotion.

Now you know about us, please tell us a little about yourself – and submit often!

Best regards,
MLM
